This is what I like to call blog barf

I must have forgotten what it was like to have a husband. We are taking full advantage of this extra time we now have with Mike.

Sometimes I imagine I'm in a musical where I swing open the front door, the sun shines in and I bust out in some song that describes my feelings in detail. (If I had a nice singing voice I may have done just that instead of only imagining it).

It's been so great to have time to go and do things. Here are some pictures of a few of the things we have been up to in the last little while.

Canoeing (we've upgraded from the old dirty broom).

That time of year again

Garage sales! I am not much of a fan, but Mike LOVES them! I always complain saying it's a bunch of junk and a waste of money. Mike is quick to disagree and has recently reminded me of his "cool" finds. Some of which, he would like me to add, were free 99!

Here is the latest and greatest find
A blow up raft.

We tried it out the 1st day we got it. If you can't tell,
that is an old broom we are using for the ore - quality!

All is well - no holes. Soooooooooo

Before I end this post, I do have to admit Mike is pretty
awesome at finding quality stuff for super cheap. He is even
more awesome for making them so much cooler than before!

TWO years down and TWO more to go!

We finally made it to the half way point in dental school.  

Well I guess that is if Mike doesn't do a GPR (residency) or specialize...  

which he will end up doing one of those, but for now, I would like to think that we are half way done.

I am proud of Mike!  He has done so well!

YAY for Mike - you really are my hero!  For more than one reason.

(May I add that he is washing the dishes at the moment from the dinner that he made)

Mike's mom made Blake some scrubs for the occasion.  I thought they were pretty cute!  Thanks Karen.  

Refrigerator For Sale

Mike and I just aren't going to need our refrigerator anymore.

We are going to be storing our food in our teeth from now on.

Do I smell Cafe Rio?

Where did that delicious looking ensalada come from you ask???  

Well it's not Cafe Rio, but it is just as scrumptious and delightful.  

My good friend Lauren is the master cook.   

There are a few things we miss about the West 

and Cafe Rio is one of them.  Thanx Lauren for

bringing the Cafe Rio to us!  Our tummies were

so full it hurt!

One year older and wiser too....

At least that is what the song says right?  Well, I’ll take the wiser part…

Thanks to Martha oh oops I mean Mike - the party planning master (I am easily confused b/c he did such an excellent job).  I had the perfect birthday BBQ with my family, some friends and yummy food. 

If you want to count the cupcakes and think that is my age I say SURE!

Mr. Kite Master

Move over Ha Yiqi (world champion kite flyer).  There is a new man in town...

And we are off!

I was singing in the kitchen today and Blake walks in.  

He says "Mom, I am turning the music off" Then pushes an imaginary button.  

You have to love the honesty of children!

Kick your rain boots off and come on over!

No puddles here...

Blake has had ZERO accidents today!!!  

"Going potty" is a big step for Blake.  So to go a day with no accidents is a great accomplishment for this stubborn but sweet-tempered child.

I am just greatful this was never an issue!

The Unexpected Visitor

We were playing in the jungle of our backyard today 

and found an unexpected visitor.  

Mr. Snake

Blake really liked him...

Until they came face to face.

No love for you Mr. Snake...

That is unless you are looking away from me. 

Like I said, keep your distance.

Sometimes you just need to be

DONE!!!

This has been a super difficult semester. We are just anxiously awaiting for it to end and dreaming of what it will be like when it is over.

When spring break came, we got down to cleaning buisness. It felt pretty good to get our lives organized again, but when we were done, it was time for a break!

Awwwwwwwwwwww just what we needed, a break.

An hour drive away to paradise.

That is Amish paradise.

We took a couple of days and just enjoyed the time off in Amish country.

A nice afternoon swim at the pool

An evening look at the Canadian geese.

A relaxing night after a fun day.

A next morning stop at Shady Maple on our way home.
